-_- Police Officer Fatally Shoots Firefighter Who Was Resisting Arrest ------Video???

Kansas City police officer Donald Hubbard has been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing by a grand jury in the fatal shooting of off-duty firefighter Anthony Bruno.

As The Inquisitr previously reported, newlywed Bruno and his wife were celebrating their wedding when he allegedly got into scuffle with a cab driver outside of the Kansas City Marriott. Hubbard, who was in uniform but working an off-duty security detail for the hotel, tried to take Bruno, 26, into custody. “Hubbard attempted to arrest Bruno, who was non-compliant.”

The two men wound up wrestling on the ground, and Bruno flipped the officer on his back on the sidewalk. See NSFW video below (another video apparently exists, but it has been pulled down from YouTube). You can hear one of the witnesses shouting “don’t fight the cop” before things got out of hand.

The veteran policeman with 17 years on the KCPD admitted that he thought his life was in danger in the December 1 struggle.

“He then somehow flipped me over onto my back and the subject began punching me on the left side of my face and head… He was on top of me and I was in an extremely vulnerable position and I was exhausted from the struggle with the suspect. I don’t know how many times he struck me, but I started to black out and saw lines across my eyes. He continued to strike me and I started to lose consciousness and I believed the suspect was not going to stop hitting me until he killed me. I feared for my life and I drew my weapon, fired two shots center mass.”

Officer Hubbard and a bystander who happened to be a nurse performed CPR on the wounded man at the scene.

Bruno tragically died at the hospital, however, from bullet wounds to the chest. Officer Hubbard suffered a fractured eye socket and cheekbone, and a cut above his left eye, but is now back on the job.
