Kimora Simmons, the ex-wife of music, fashion and online mogul Russell Simmons, sure knows how to pick ‘em. In 2009 she was divorced from Simmons, who has a reported net worth of $325 million. Now Kimora Simmons is married again — to a wealthy investment banker for the mega-firm Goldman Sachs.
Tim Leissner is vice-chair of the global investment bank’s Asia region operations. He has been romantically linked to Kimora Simmons for a few months. The couple were photographed in December vacationing in St. Bart’s, each sporting rings on their left ring fingers, so it appears the two were already married at the time.
While it is not yet clear when Kimora Simmons secretly married Tim Leissner, it is certainly possible that the St. Bart’s vacation was their honeymoon. If so, they did it in style. Simmons and Leissner spent the holidays aboard a chartered yacht that rents for $325,000 per week.
The news of the nuptials was broken via Twitter by Kimora’s ex, Russell Simmons. The former couple have remained close friends and share a bond over their two children, 13-year-old Ming an 10-year-old Aoki. Kimora Simmons also has a child with actor Djimon Hounsou, with whom she ended a relationship in 2012.
Russell Simmons referred to the investment banker as “family.”
“All of us love @OfficialKimora but the fact is she is happily married. Tim is [sic] has been family for a while now,” Russell Simmons said in the tweet, which came in response to rumors that Kimora Simmons was involved in a relationship with rapper Birdman — a friend of Russell Simmons.
